About Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel. Currently, I work as an Assistant Professor of Mental Health Counseling at SUNY Oswego. I'm a National Board-Certified Counselor and licensed to practice mental health counseling in the states of New York and Pennsylvania. With expertise in research and practice with the queer community and highly sensitive persons, I integrates narrative and relational-cultural approaches to counseling and counselor education, empowering clients to reach their full potential.
In addition to my training, I have personal experience growing up as a queer, highly sensitive kid in rural upstate New York, and dealt with the common queer experience of feeling misunderstood and out of place. My clinical work and research are a direct reflection of my lived experience as a highly sensitive, queer man.
When I'm not counseling or teaching, I enjoy hiking and being outdoors with my wife and our goldendoodle, Trolley; playing the oboe, seeing musical theatre, and engaging with various nerdy fandoms. I am the biggest Wicked fan you will ever meet. I encourage clients to bring any of their own nerdy interests into our sessions!
